Joyce Skinner – Funeral Arrangements

As many of you will know Joyce died peacefully at home on 15th January
at the age of 101. Her funeral will be at Oakley Wood Crematorium on 4th
February at 12.00 midday. The hearse will leave Box Tree Cottage in
Church Lane at 11.15 am and turn into Church Street before turning left
at The Bell to leave the village along the Binton Road. I am sure there
will be many people who will wish to line the funeral route to pay their
respects and say their last goodbyes.
There will be a Memorial Service at St Peter’s Church in celebration of
her wonderful life to be arranged at a later date when restrictions permit.
May she rest in peace.
Adrian
Please Note :
In accordance with current Government enforceable Covid restrictions, people wishing to pay their respects are advised to adhere to social distancing at all times. If you live on the route, please remain within your household group in your front garden. If you pass the route during your daily exercise, please maintain social distancing from others outside of your household group or bubble.

Temporary Closure of Milcote Road : 26th – 27th January

This closure is required to enable carriageway patching and associated works to be carried out. The closure was advertised in the local press on the 7th January and the 21st January. Advance warning signs relating to these works will be put out on site. Map of diversion below –

Binton Bridge Closed : Thur 21st Jan

On Thurs 21st Jan there will be a short emergency closure of Binton Bridge, to allow the County Council and its maintenance contractor sufficient working space to remove river debris currently pinned against the upstream elevation.
It is envisaged that the closure will be for a short period (perhaps up to 2 hours between 9.30am – 3.30pm) to allow for the traffic management diversion via Bidford upon Avon to be signed, and then for the team to park the log grab plant on the side of the bridge at carriageway level, lifting debris directly into the trailer for removal off site.
This is in an attempt to minimise risk of flooding as the river level is expected to rise over the coming days.
