Planning

Under Stratford on Avon District Council’s Core Strategy there is a requirement to build a significant number of dwellings across the District by 2031.

Welford-on-Avon is identified as a category 2 Local Service Village and has a requirement for a number of dwellings, given as a range, that need to be built by this date.

This range was originally stated to be between 51 and 75 homes but was subsequently increased by 12% to a maximum of 84 houses.

The Core Strategy was adopted on 11th July 2016 but planning permission has already been granted for 157 new dwellings which represents a 26% increase in the housing stock from the 2011 census figure of 605 homes.
